Your card is safe with us
Our valued client,
To avoid being the victim of fraud, and to make sure that you complete your banking transactions with the maximum level of security and safety, we provide you with some important advice that you need to take into consideration when receiving your card from the Bank and when using it, and how to protect it at all times.
When receiving your ATM card, make sure of the following:
- Avoid keeping the card and the passcode in the same place, due to the dangerous consequences of such action in case the card is stolen or lost.
- Keep your card as if it were cash; do not leave it unattended.
- Change your passcode to another passcode that you can easily remember, while avoiding the use of numbers that are easy for others to predict, such as birthdates or phone numbers.
- Do not write your passcode anywhere, and discard the passcode you have received from the branch upon changing it using the ATM in the country in which the card was issued.
- Do not give your passcode to any person, even for checking purposes only.
- In case your main card, or any other sub-cards, were lost or stolen, report the incident to the Bank immediately to cancel the stolen card and to issue a replacement card.
- The card should only be used by the authorized person whose name is printed on the front face of the card.
- Never fold your card, and do not leave it under direct sunlight.
- Avoid scratching the magnetic strip, as this strip which is located at the rear face of the card is encrypted and is very sensitive.
- Avoid placing two encrypted cards face to face.
- Do not leave your card close to mobile phones, TVs, or any other electronic and electrical devices that transmit a continuous magnetic field.
When using your ATM card in an ATM, make sure of the following:
- Look around you and watch your surroundings, in case the ATM is poorly lighted or hidden in any other way, use another machine.
- In case you notice any signs that imply that the machine has been tampered with, in its external form, external structure, or wiring, please inform the Bank and use another ATM.
- Make sure that the person waiting behind you in line cannot see your passcode when you enter it to perform your transaction.
- Before leaving the ATM, make sure that your transaction is fully completed and that you have taken your card. Also, make sure that you received your money and the receipt related to the transaction. Do not leave the receipt at the ATM.
- In case your card was retained by the ATM, contact the Bank immediately.
- In some cases, random individuals might impersonate the Bank's employees and offer assistance to get your passcode, it is always advised to check the person's identity before accepting any assistance.
When using your ATM card to make a purchase from a shop inside or outside the Country, make sure of the following:
- After each purchase, make sure that you have received your card.
- Always make sure that you do not lose sight of your card when buying from a shop using the card.
- Always review your purchase invoices and receipts after each use of the card, to make sure that the operation was completed correctly. In case the operation was not requested by you, make sure that any such operations are canceled before leaving the shop.
- Always review the monthly statement you receive from the Bank. In case you find any discrepancies, check with the Bank within 30 days of the date of the related statement.
When using your ATM card to make online purchases or purchases through your mobile phone, pay attention to the following:
- Offers and allurements offered by emails or on the web are very tempting, but not all of them are true. Be careful about such misleading offers; do not provide any of your card’s information (card number, issue and expiry dates, your name as stated on the card, the CCV 2 number, which is the 3-digit number located on the back of the card which is usually requested when making online purchases) before verifying the accuracy of the offer.
- Read all the details and understand all terms and conditions before completing any online deals.
- Make sure to record the name, address, and phone number of the company you intend to work with.
- To the maximum extent possible, avoid giving your card numbers over the phone if you have not called to confirm the accuracy of the deal, or in case you are not satisfied with receiving the necessary documents from the dealer.
- Do not leave your card, or even the receipts, statements, or any other documents containing the details of your card, in an unsafe location.
